We are delighted to announce that the wonderful La Pulga, a real flag bearer for Santorini Thoroughbreds, joins us at Spiteri Retraining to begin his next chapter outside of racing.

La Pulga enjoyed a fantastic racing career before retiring last year following a mild suspensory injury. Since then, he has been given all the time he needs to recover, completing his box rest, restricted turnout and several months of well-earned downtime in the field.

Following a recent scan and assessment, we are delighted to report that La Pulga is completely sound, fit and well, and has been given the green light to resume ridden work.

He will now be making his way to us in West Wales, where we will gradually reintroduce him to ridden work and begin assessing his suitability for a new career outside of racing.

His former trainer, has suggested that La Pulga could make a lovely riding horse, with the potential to enjoy activities such as showing and hunter trials.

As always, we will take our time getting to know him, assessing him under saddle and establishing what sort of home and future career will suit him best.

❤️ Finding La Pulga the right long-term home is our absolute priority.

Having been such a special horse for RaceShare and everyone involved in his racing career, we are keen to ensure that his next chapter is every bit as rewarding. We would also love to continue following his journey and seeing him thrive in his new life beyond the racecourse.

We will share further updates once La Pulga when we've had the opportunity to get to know him properly.

Please only register your interest if you are in a position to offer La Pulga a knowledgeable, loving and long-term home. His previous injury history will, of course, be fully disclosed and discussed with any prospective home.

We are really looking forward to welcoming this very special horse to Spiteri Retraining and helping him find his perfect next chapter. 🐎❤️
