Arthur is looking for a very special home — life in the slow lane

This lovely boy has just arrived with me just, but I wanted to start putting the feelers out early because the home I’m looking for is a little bit special.

Arthur is now 15 years old and, after spending the last seven years working in a public riding school, it’s time for him to enjoy a much quieter pace of life.

He is an absolute gentleman who has spent years looking after riders of all abilities, including novices. Now, it’s his turn to have someone look after him 🥰.

He does have a number of age and mileage-related veterinary findings, which I’m very happy to discuss openly with any genuinely interested home. Because of these, he is not being offered as a horse for schooling, or competition, but as a happy hacker who will enjoy a pootle around the block, and a wander across the moors.

What I’m hoping to find is someone who wants a best friend first and a ridden horse second.

The dream would be a lovely home where he can live a quiet, happy life, be a superb companion and, providing he remains comfortable, enjoy the occasional gentle amble around the lanes. No pressure, no circles, no jumping and absolutely no expectations — just pottering about the lanes and otherwise enjoying semi retirement.

His report reads, he is quiet to hack and did not get nervous with the wild boar, dogs, pedestrians, traffic and with umbrellas, etc.

For export to enjoy a more lowkey, laid back life and he will also benefit from access to turn out

At 15, he's earned his life in the slow lane.

He hasn’t arrived yet, so I’ll obviously assess him properly now he's here and get to know him myself before making any final decisions about his future. But if you’re someone who wants a kind older horse to love, spoil and enjoy for who he is — rather than what he can do for you — I’d love to hear from you.

A knowledgeable, permanent loan home where his long-term comfort comes first will be absolutely paramount. ❤️ There is no fee for this lovely boy but a permanent homing agreement must be signed to ensure this will be his last and final home.
