Why Spiteri Retraining? 

HOW DOES IT WORK?

Just as every horse is different, each owner, trainer, rider agreement is also different. At Spiteri Retraining, we work alongside syndicates, sole owners and directly with trainers to ensure everyone is happy. Some horses require very little retraining and are therefore only here a matter of weeks. Some horses have more specialist needs and will require more of a specialised home.

All horses go through an individual assessment and are given appropriate letting down time if required, or are kept in full work where necessary.

Based just 20 minutes from Poppit Sands in Cardigan Bay, we visit the beach on a weekly basis, where horses enjoy a good stretch of canter work and a splash in the sea. Where appropriate, horses that are in for retraining will attend riding club clinics, local dressage and showjumping rallies.

Once horses have gone through the appropriate level of assessment, they are advertised to private homes on the open market. All homes are vetted before purchase and a card attached to passports to ensure contact can be made with myself be it 5 weeks or 5 years down the line.
