🌟 Meet Comet 🌟

Comet is a lovely 16.3hh, 5-year-old mare who has recently arrived with us from Ireland and is now looking for a knowledgeable home to continue her education.

She retired from racing sound with no injuries, blemishes or vices.

Beautifully bred, Comet is by Blue Bresil out of a Flemensfirth mare. She had a very short racing career, running in just two point-to-points as a four-year-old, with her last run in May 2025, before being retired when it became clear that racing simply wasn't going to be her game.

Since then, Comet has been turned away and given plenty of time to relax, mature and enjoy life in the field. She has only just come back into work with us, so she is very much at the beginning of her retraining journey.

We've now had our first ride on her and she was sensible, willing and fairly straightforward, but prospective homes should understand she is just coming in to full work. After more than a year out getting fat, she will need to be brought back into work appropriately.

Comet is a big, powerful mare, and although she has been sweet and uncomplicated with us, she needs a suitably experienced and confident home with someone accustomed to producing young Thoroughbreds.

She is a lovely blank canvas with plenty of potential and, in the right hands, could go on to make a super riding club, event, dressage, hacking or all-round horse.

With so many horses currently waiting to come into the yard, Comet is available now, as she stands, at a reduced price to a suitable home that is happy to take over her retraining from this early stage.

The right home is far more important than anything else.
