Khristian is a truly beautiful 16.2hh, 14-year-old gelding by Beneficial who has spent his entire life in Ireland and is now looking for a wonderful new home here in the UK.
A substantial, quality horse with plenty of bone, Khristian is exceptionally well put together and a real head-turner wherever he goes. He moves straight with lovely, expressive paces and offers a comfortable ride with a beautifully soft mouth that makes him a pleasure under saddle.
Having retired from racing several years ago, Khristian has since enjoyed a hugely successful and varied life. He has been a prolific show horse in Ireland, consistently placing in the top three at county and national level shows, including an impressive 4th place at the prestigious RDS Dublin last year.
Beyond the show ring, Khristian has enjoyed a wonderfully varied life. He has hunted, schooled extensively, tackled cross-country fences, ditches and banks, enjoyed beach rides and fun rides, and has proven himself to be a genuine all-rounder who is happy to turn his hoof to a wide variety of activities.
He is a kind and willing horse both on the ground and ridden, and thrives in a calm, caring environment where he can build a relationship with his rider. He would suit a family looking for a versatile Riding Club horse to enjoy a bit of everything, whether that be dressage, hacking, hunting, fun rides or low-level eventing.
Due to his owner relocating, the difficult decision has been made to find him a new home where he can continue to be loved and appreciated. Khristian had been turned away for four months prior to arriving with us and is currently just coming back into work, so is not yet fully fit while we continue rebuilding his routine and fitness.
As part of this process, he has been a little green hacking out alone on occasions and has needed a lead horse to pass the odd bin bag or crisp packet a couple of times. (Barking dogs and farm machinery no problem! )
Having spoken with his previous owner, this is something has historically been normal for Khristian when returning to work after time off, and he quickly settles once he is back in a consistent routine and regular work. I have absolutely no concerns about his future and believe this will improve naturally as his fitness and confidence return.
Khristian is a lovely, genuine horse with plenty of experience behind him and will make somebody a very fun and rewarding partner for years to come.
