Time to start introducing the new boys from HK.
First off is the lovely Tog . He is right up my street!!
Born and bred in Australia, he will be 8 in October. He's had a very impressive racing career, racking up winnings of $2.8m HKD (£247k)
He last ran in June, has had plenty of downtime in mainland China, before starting his retraining journey at Beas River back in HK before making his way to Wales. He absolutely floats across the ground and has the most beautiful loose and free movement.
His retraining report states the following:
Reason for Retirement from Racing:
• Age
Retraining Comment:
• TOGs racing trainer reports he had a quiet/calm temperament and was average to ride. No abnormal or aggressive behaviours were observed.
• At Beas River, we found him well behaved to handle in the stable and on the ground.
• He has begun retraining on the lunge and out hacking. He has three rhythmical paces and shows some quality in his trot work. He is settling into his work but can still become a bit reactive to his environment.
He is working into a frame on the lunge. He is well behaved to hack out under saddle.
• For export as he will benefit from more time to develop.
He is going to be very special indeed! He is gentleman in the box and is really settling well into life here in Wales. We may have a sit on him tomorrow and will report back!
