Next of the HK gang to be introduced is Buddy. He is a beautiful 16.2hh gelding who hasnt run since April last year.

Hes had plenty of downtime time and is already quite established in his flatwork having spent some months at Beas River doing his retraining work before being exported here.

He is a really lovely ride and would make someone a fabulous allrounder.

Retraining Comment:

* YEAH BUDDY’s racing report states he had a quiet/calm temperament and was easy/very good to ride.

No abnormal or aggressive behaviours were observed.

At Beas River, we found him good to handle both in the stable and on the ground.

He has begun retraining on the lunge and under saddle. He is a quiet ride with regular paces and decent trainability. He is working into a contact but can be downhill in the frame, lean on the riders’ hands, and become heavy at times.

He is very well behaved to hack out.

For export as he will benefit from more time to develop.

Clinical examination prior to export revealed:

1. Sound to trot in hand on a firm surface in a straight line.

2. Moderate chronic thickening over dorsal proximal third metatarsal bone LH with no pain on palpation, consistent with previous cellulitis. Distal limb palpation and passive flexion revealed no significant findings otherwise.

3. Shod routinely.

4. No abnormalities noted on ophthalmic examination of the eyes and auscultation of the heart.

5. In good coat condition with a body condition score of 4/9.

6. Back mobility was found to be within normal limits for age and type on palpation.

7. Routine dental rasp performed in January 2026.
